Introduction

        Institute of Strategy and International Affairs(ISIA) was founded in 2000 and aims to respond to the rapid-changing generation. We cultivate student of different proficiency like national defense, foreign affairs, cross-strait relations, etc. In addition, we support our university to achieve the goal of becoming comprehensive university. Therefore, we started for the preparation at 2005 and January 1st 2006 formally founded, with the first batch of 8 graduate students. In 2007, Strategy and National Security extension-school program was founded, with the first group of 30 students.

Education Objectives

Course arrangement targets at cultivating strategy and international affair talented students. On one hand, providing internationally-related professional training; on the other hand, strengthen students with governmental policies. Moreover, courses combining theory to actual evidence makes students be even skillful at work in the future.

Distinctive Features

The Institute of Strategy and International Affairs (ISIA) is the only graduate program of its kind at a public university in Taiwan. We are closely related to public sectors of government such as foreign affairs, national defense, national security as well as organization for investigation. Besides, extension-school program also offer mutual benefits with our master students.

 

Course Structure

The core courses of ISIA include the following categories:

A: international relations and international affair

B: pan-Asia security and strategy

C: policy science and policy arrangement

H:core course, including international relation theory, social science theory, multilateral relation among cross-strait and U.S ,Japan, policy making and problem solving, and Asia regional security

Occupational Opportunities

Student’s future occupational opportunities reside in the following five fields:

A: Advanced graduate studies

B: National Public-service Examination

C: Governmental Institutions, and Political parties

D: International Organizations

E: Others: varies among students depending upon personal choice

Admission

Two types of admission for graduate programs are available:

  1. Individual application and interview and
  2. entrance examination

A special admission procedure of placement is designed for overseas Chinese students.
