The College aims to cultivate the talents of scientific mind and humanity concerns. We emphasize the using scientific approache to study the interaction between society and individuals and suggest each  department applying the idea to course design. Our central idea is "innovative theory and localized practice".

        In the field of research, we focus on the latest trend in international social science research and develop relating social domain theory toward local's special situation .

        On the other hand, the College will promote the research on aged society as aging population in Taiwan has become an important issue and bring challenges to our society. This trend calls into question the sustainability of current economy and society, and it will have an impact on people’s support and trust on democratic governance and its established institution. Thus, it is important for the College to integrate the research capability in order to develop interdisciplinary research on aged society.
